I probably should be studying right now, seeing as my exams are coming up in less than a week, but I thought why not blog instead! For the past 2 weeks I've been cooped up inside the library studying for these upcoming exams and it's come to that stage where everything is becoming redundant. It feels like I'm only going through with the motions and not really being present, but hopefully this'll all change once the exams are over.

Seeing as I basically live in the library now, I dress for total and utter comfort hence the oversized shirt being used as a dress. Comfort is key at the moment!

Do you guys ever have those days where you feel the need to just 'dress-up' a little more than usual? Well, this was one of those days. I was only meant to accompany my sister while she went to purchase a new phone (very casual right?), yet I decided to pull together this outfit last minute. I've been drawn to prints recently so hence the stand-out print of this top. Once again colour black dominates the entirety of this look but you guys should be used to that by now, I seem to always draw towards having at least one (or more) aspect of black clothing in all my outfits.

I was never the type of person who took to New Year's Resolutions very well. I always set them but never stuck to them. Maybe that was due to the fact that I made them too specific and, often at times, quite unrealistic. I never truly took into account how my dedication to tasks, such as these, tend to wither as time went by. So this year I decided to set a more obtainable resolution and one that I feel I would truly benefit from: Take care of myself! I'm not implying that I have never taken care of myself prior to this, but I feel like I could improve on my actions this coming year. I need to learn that it's not selfish to prioritize myself and my well-being, and so, that is my goal this year. To establish myself by doing things that make me happy and creating memories along the way. Here's to the new year!!

I'm currently playing around with new pieces in my wardrobe and purchasing ones which I would have never done so before. The perfect example is this gorgeous tricot cardigan with the shearling details on the front, which I purchased on a whim after eyeing it online. I never thought I could pull off such statement piece but I challenged myself to put an outfit together solely on this cardigan. So I went with the black and white approach in choosing the other articles of clothing as I wanted the cardigan to remain as the focal point of this outfit and viola!

I've added another closet staple to my wardrobe, the collared white shirt, and I'm so excited to style this for future outfit posts. I love how this one has a slight edge to it, with the words "Out of Sight, Out of Mind" printed on it and would be so versatile to style. For this look, I decided to keep it monochromatic with just a splash of colour (which I've realized is a manner in which I style a lot of my outfits).

Comfort is key for me, so there are always days when I just want to dress comfortably without the hassle of heels, skirts or accessories. This day was precisely one of those! As much as I love wearing pretty tops and flowy skirts, I equally enjoy wearing loose t-shirts and jeans on a daily basis. For this look I decided to keep my pieces very monochromatic and inject some colour through my accessories instead. Although I have to admit that my choice in colours for this day turned out to be horrible, as the temperature was unusually high that day and wearing dark colours in hot weather just spells DISASTER! I felt like I was slowly being roasted in my black jeans! *facepalm*

I'm not quite sure whether you guys know exactly how and where I take my usual outfit shots, and how these photos come about. So let me tell you guys that my set-up involves me, my trusty tripod and the comfortable setting of my back-garden. One of the downsides of not having someone to take my outfit shots and depending on a tripod set-up is, that I'm limited to where I can shoot my photos. I've always wanted someone to photograph my outfits for me as I have a greater choice in the settings for my photos but never found anyone who was available or willing. So when one of my best-friends volunteered to photograph one of my outfits, I seized the opportunity. But to be quite honest, I soon became unsure whether this was such a good idea as I'm actually very camera-shy and awkward when others take photos of me. In addition to that, the very thought of me taking my photos in public and having people see me (and in my mind I feel like they're judging me in a sense) absolutely terrifies me. But in the end, I swallowed my fear, albeit some coaxing on my friend's behalf and some compromising on the setting (I insisted that the first few shots where taken in an area where there weren't anyone around). All in all, the photos turned out really good and by the end of our time there, I was finally becoming comfortable with posing for the photographs in public (the final photo in this post stands as proof).

Ta-dah! I'm finally back to blogging! I can't believe it's been almost 6 months since my last outfit post and it honestly fee...

Ta-dah! I'm finally back to blogging! I can't believe it's been almost 6 months since my last outfit post and it honestly feels like I'm starting from square one. I basically have to relearn all the tricks and routine I had all those months ago, so please excuse me if there's any discrepancies with my previous style of writing/blogging but I'll try and fall back into the routine soon enough. I should probably start this post with an explanation behind my ridiculously long hiatus, so here it goes (I promise to try and make this short and simple). First and foremost, university took control of my daily routine. Finding time to blog between lectures, clinical placements and the minuscule amount of social time I had, was almost impossible. Well, maybe impossible is an exaggeration, although university life did play an impact on my blogging I must admit that the greatest factor behind my hiatus was the lack of motivation to actually blog. Plain and simple. I just genuinely found it so hard to make myself choose my outfits and then set up and shoot some photos. But I'm hoping that I've finally found a way out of the rut that I was in with this outfit post.

Do you guys have that piece of clothing which you consistently return to? For me, sweaters are my closet staples, especially during winter! It's such an effortless way to keep warm while still looking presentable, which is exactly why my collection just continues to expand. On another note, I tried something new with these outfit shots because instead of my usual camera that I use to shoot my photos, I decided to utilise the amazing camera on my new phone. I recently purchased a Sony Xperia Z2 and it boasts a 20.7 megapixel camera, so I decided to test out its full capabilities by having my sister shoot my outfit shots. I have to say, I'm pretty impressed with the photos and might actually continue to use it for future outfit posts.

First of all, I want to start this post by wishing everyone a Happy New Year and I hope you will all have an amazing year ahead! It stills astounds me how quickly the past year has gone. To be honest I felt that the past year was a big stepping stone for me and I'm hoping that this upcoming year will be another learning progress. I sincerely hope that this year will be somewhat of a continuation of the past years, which were filled with adventures, memories, new friends and an abundance of blessings.

Now onto this very much delayed outfit post. Here's what I wore to our family Christmas Eve party and unlike last year, I decided to be significantly more festive with my choice of clothing and so viola! I've had an affinity towards lace for quite some time now but I was never able to find the perfect piece, until I saw this skirt from Forever 21. It has such gorgeous detailing throughout the piece and I absolutely love the frayed ends, which in my opinion gives it more of an edge. It was also the perfect colour for the festive season,(although it wasn't a shade of green, for me it was as close as I was going to get to that colour).

So I guess the best way to begin this post would be to explain my 4 month hiatus from blogging: COLLEGE! I honestly haven't had any breathing room for the past 4 months with lectures, clinical placements and work. To be honest it reached point where exhaustion really took over physically and mentally, which is why I'm so glad that it's officially the start of the Christmas break. What better way to start off the holidays by updating with a winter outfit post and hopefully this starts the ball rolling for more outfit posts to come. Winter definitely came full force this year, with the days getting significantly shorter and the weather becoming unbearably cold. Over the past two months, you could definitely feel the chilly weather so winter jackets are a MUST to have when braving the weather outside. When I was taking these outfit shots, it was actually only 3 degrees that day! Which is why I made sure to get as much shots taken just so I could return to the comfort of the toasty-warmth of the house.

Here's a quick and easy outfit for anyone who's getting ready to get back into lectures and University life. Having to choose an outfit each morning is not an easy feat especially if you're feeling extra lazy that day or quite possibly, you're running late for your morning lecture (it happens to me all the time)! This is a perfect outfit to wear on days such as these because it's literally wear it and go! Plus it'll keep you comfortable during those long (often boring) lectures which you'll have to sit through.

Although sometimes it's hard to part with my summer clothes, so I always try and transition them to suit the cooler weather either by wearing a cardigan/jacket over a summery top and slipping on some black tights with my shorts and skirts.

Here's another super quick outfit for you guys! This a super simple outfit I put together the other day before I had to rush off to a job interview (I'll blog about that outfit very soon). Floral prints scream very feminine to me, but I decided to take a twist in this outfit and pair this floral top with some edgy, almost androgynous, pair of high-waisted jeans.

Top: Forever 21; High-waisted Jeans: Cheap Monday; Wedges: Forever 21; Necklace: Accessorize; Rosary Bracelet: Gift; Rings: Spike (Forever 21), Band (H&M)

I wore barely any jewellery for this outfit as I wanted my top and jeans to be the focal point of this ensemble and to finish off the outfit I wore my always reliable nude coloured wedges!

I can't believe it's already July and apparently another heatwave is supposedly about to hit Ireland again, so thumbs up for more warm summer days! And that's it for this outfit. Here goes the very first travel diary on this blog! This is still kind of foreign to me, so please bear with me. :) Last weekend, me and my family spent the weekend taking in the gorgeous sites on the West of Ireland. I've lived in Ireland for almost 12 years and this is the first time that we've taken the time to really go around and visit the various tourist spots which the area offers. We started the day pretty early on a Saturday morning, seeing as we were driving there and wanted to make the most out of each day. After grabbing lunch at this cute little rest stop, we made our way west!

We stumbled upon this gorgeous ruins of a castle while we were on the way to see the Cliffs of Moher, so we had to stop and take a look.

Next stop was the Cliffs of Moher! Pictures honestly can't do justice to how breathtaking the view of the cliffs really are. They are one of those sites where you have to see it personally to really appreciate its beauty. Standing at the edge of the cliff allowed me to see how amazing the cliff really was, although it was quite terrifying especially when a huge gust of wind decided to pass by while I was standing there.

We started the next day bright and early, with our first stop being the Doolin Cave.

There were goats on the roof of the visitor centre! How cute are they!

Inside biggest chamber of the cave, we got to see the 'Great Stalactite' which at 7.3 metres (23 feet) is the longest free-hanging stalactite in the Northern Hemisphere. It was absolutely breathtaking and mind boggling as to how it has managed to continue to hang after hundreds of thousands of years.

On the way home, we made an unplanned stop at Moneygall in Kildare, which is famous for being President Barrack Obama's ancestral area. I loved how the village fully embraced being associated with the famous president. They had the American and Irish flags lining the streets and they even have an 'Obama Cafe'!
